From Monday, October 26th through Friday, October 30th, Hillsborough Middle School will join schools across the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week. This annual campaign brings our school community together to promote healthy choices, positive decision-making, and awareness about drug and alcohol prevention.
This year's national theme is "BE A HERO. STAY DRUG FREE."
Here is how our 7th and 8th graders can get involved throughout the week:
S.H.I.P. Food & Personal Care Drive (Oct 26–30): We are collecting non-perishable food items and personal care products for the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (S.H.I.P.) in Somerset County. Homerooms will have red collection bags ready for student donations starting Monday morning. (See attached flyer for details)
District-Wide "Wear Red Day" – Wednesday, October 28th: All students and staff are encouraged to wear RED to show our unified commitment to living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle!
Poster Contest: Students are invited to create an 8.5"11" poster matching this year's theme: "BE A HERO. STAY DRUG FREE." Five grand prize winners will receive a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card, and 10 runners-up will receive $10 gift cards! (See attached flyer for submission details).
Cafeteria Lunch Activities: Peer Leaders will be hosting a day of interactive trivia during lunch periods with opportunities for students to win prizes!
